Primark & Misguided Haul, Youtube, and UPDATE

So last Monday I had surgery. Since then, it has been a very painful recovery and I have often  been questioning myself on why I went ahead with it in the first place, despite reading up online discussions on forums that specifically said “Childbirth was easier”. Its not all doom and gloom though, I am grateful to the strong pain medication I was perscribed that sent me to sleep hours at a time which I guess, in some sense, speeded up the healing time. Still, it has been pretty shitty.

More than anything, the timing has been the worst part because my boyfriend had planned to be out of the country for most of October working on film shoots, which meant I was left home alone. Thankfully my parents came home and helped me with tasks I didn’t want to do (washing the pots). A friend of mine also helped take me around town to pick up more pain medication, which I took advantage of, and ended up shopping my own weight in clothes. It is hard being stuck in the house alone. The only other thing I could look forward to is my weekly grocery delivery, which by the way, I bought some Vegan Wensleydale-style cheese and it is SO good.  If you’re wanting to become vegan or just looking for ways to cut out meat and dairy, I definitely recommend the new line that Sainsburies have recently added. The hype is real!

Since I’m not quiet recovered enough for uni yet and I haven’t updated this page for a while, I really felt the need to make a video on my recent splurges. This is something I have been wanting to try out for a long time, even though I don’t have the equipment to make the high quality content I really want,  but this is just the start. Please let me know if this is something that you enjoy and are willing to support. My channel will be similar to my blog, a focus on Veganism, health, beauty, fashion; all of that jazz.

Thank you so much for being a great reader and a fabulous supporter. I wish you all a fantastic weekend!

I’ve noticed recently that my choice of clothing was just boring and repetitive, I would often be going to work in jeans and a “nicer-than-usual top. Mostly, this was down to the fact I had put on a little weight over the christmas holidays and haven’t been as confident to get my best assets out (as far as I was concerned, they were hidden through months of hibernation). But after my 21st birthday earlier this January, I decided enough was enough and that I would be going back to my healthy ways in order to drop the weight and feel happier in my skin. As motivation I have ordered some cute items from misguided that I am able to wear to work and would love to give my honest opinions to potential customers.

The Midi Skirt

I’m 5’2 with a fairly slim but curvy figure so I’ve always avoided the midi skirt in fear that I would look like I’m drowning in material and exaggerate my not-so-great features. However a dear friend of mine, who is also very petite, advised me to find a skirt that just about hit the knee for its best effect. I’ve used Boohoo in the past and bought cheap, flimsy ones made of a jersey type material and was put off with everything that was wrong with it. This time, I decided to take a plunge and try Misguided, opting for asymmetrical cuts and see through hemlines. I have to admit that I was very impressed with the quality of these skirts, especially as some of them were on sale from £5. I did buy a nude coloured version of the striped skirt, however it appeared the skirts were slightly different in design. Instead of an elasticated waistband it had a zip fastening.

Advise: If you do want to buy from misguided please be aware that the majority of items that I have bought had a very poor zip which would often get stuck and fail to function. As I have arthritis, I struggled with this and required the help of my friends and boyfriend who also painfully struggled to fasten me up! Many of the items I just had to give away.

The Playsuit

If you knew me when I were  between the ages 16-18, I basically lived in playsuits and shorts even if it meant taking the extra five minutes to go to the bathroom. Working at a nightclub, I saw a girl wear a really cute playsuit and re-inspired me to purchase one again. I came across this “teal” playsuit on Misguided and fell in love with the plunge feature as I don’t really have anything that shows that part of me off. Plus, I really like the almost  geometric feature that the straps have incorporated, I really cant wait to wear this tomorrow night with my new haircut.

Advice: “Teal” as in, it was supposed to be more green, but it sadly wasn’t as true to colour. I still love it regardless.

The Bodysuit

So, I completely forgot to photograph this one myself even though I had it ready, please do not judge me. Seeing this on the website made me question two things, 1. How bad is the camel toe? 2. How much boob spillage will there be that night? I decided to take the “plunge” and buy it anyway knowing that I wouldn’t have to worry about tucking excess fabric into my cute skirts and it making it visually obvious. So, the bodysuit isn’t exactly comfortable on my crotch and i’m definitely going to have to buy those stick on nipple/boob pads, but I’ll still give this a thumbs up on the basis that its cute.

Advice? Just do you, honey boo boo.
